The event I am writing about here is my first Conscious meeting with Hermes and Hekate. I learned how to go on Shamanic Journeys, and I do believe this helped me “travel” in meditation to meet them. I want to preface this by saying I was having YEARS of weird dreams and nightmares. I had started to use my nightmares as a gauge for how my mental health was doing, as the nightmares got worse so too my intrusive thoughts got worse.
In this meditation, I was trying to connect with Hekate. (it wasn’t my first time… this is the first one that was a success, however) I had just gone though a major introspective period where I finally realized she had been with me for a very long time. I wanted to connect with her to see how this was all supposed to work. I was brand new to working with any Deity…. Outside of Christianity, that is. I didn’t have a “personal working relationship” with the Christian God or any of the Angels. It was more “imposed upon” me as I grew up.
The Journey:
The Journey will be in italics to separate it from the “conscious thoughts”.
I started the meditation in a building. I remember thinking it was weird as I didn’t consciously choose a location to start. The room was white with some basic “office” type items and décor. It was weird, but I decided to roll with it. A man in sunglasses with a smile approached me and asked me to come with him. “She is waiting for you.” He said. I was confused but went with him as he seemed very comfortable and easy to be with. I don’t have that type of connection with many people, so I decided to trust it. We walked out of the room into a hallway. It looked like a typical office building. The man next to me seemed to sometimes have sunglasses and sometimes not. It was difficult for me to really “see” him.
Soon the drywall gave way to rock. We seemed to have entered into a cavern of sorts. The man seems unconcerned and at ease here. He gave me a relaxed smile as he grabbed my hand and led onwards. The cavern’s corridor gave way to a large open cave with a throne, two torches and a black dog sitting like a good boy next to the throne. I could sense a female figure on the throne but not see her with my mind’s eye. The man let me know that she is Hekate. The one I wanted to connect with. I felt elation and excitement! I started to sense a Purple type of gown on her. Dark brown hair with some curls. It seemed forever for me to sense more about her. I sensed a Smile but also a No-Nonsense type of energy with her. All I heard was, “Good. Now you can do the work for real in waking life.”
Everything then went away, and my eyes sprang open. I had to do some divination work to figure out what the heck that was all about. I was super confused at the time. I used my Pendulum to ask simple yes and no questions.
Was THAT Real? YES!!!
Was that Hekate? YES
Who was the man? Of course the pendulum couldn’t answer that… I sat for a few minutes to see if I could gain insight. A memory floated up of me reading stories about how Hermes is a Messenger! A Guide for those who perished. Of Course! Duh!
I asked the Pendulum if the man was Hermes. YES!
(I felt a sense of amusement here. I assumed it came from him)
I then asked if my dreams before figuring all this out was me doing my inner work. YES!
So are they a form of Shadow Work? Again YES!
It wasn’t easy to put all this together!
Now, I got all of this information using a Combination of all of my Spiritual Skills. I could not fully See anyone. Even the environment. For much of it, it really seemed like I was being told what I was seeing and my brain tried to fill it in for me. I couldn’t “hear” this however… It was like a Knowing. Without me consciously Knowing. That is honestly the best way I can describe it.
I write all this to explain how it can be. Saying that we “See” something is just easier than trying to explain the process as to how we perceive all the details. The more we explore and try, the easier it becomes!! Many of us use ALL of our Senses to fill in any gaps in what we sense. Kind of like putting a puzzle together to be able to see the picture on it.
