This Memorial Day I will be Honoring the many we have lost from All Branches of Service. I have created this graphic to give you ideas on ingredients for creating your own ritual or spell if you would like too. These are some of what I will be including in my own Honoring the Fallen Ritual.
The list is not something you have to follow like a recipe. Use what you have on hand. You can use some of these items, all of them or make your own. Here is why I am including these items specifically:
1 White Candle and 1 Black Candle on a fire safe dish- White for cleansing and purity. Black for protection for each of those we Honor in this.
Crystals:
Black Onyx- Protection, Strength, Grounding, Healing, Perseverance
Black Tourmaline- Protection, Release Negative Energies and Patterns of Thought, Increase Vitality, Purifying
Lapis Lazuli- Healing, Emotional Balancing, Friendship, Courage, Wisdom, Connection to Intuition and Guides
Selenite- Cleansing, Clearing, Protecting, Gentleness, Connection to Lunar Energies
Clear Quartz- Amplifying Energies of all around it, Purity, Harmony, Balance
Rose Quartz- Love, Self-Love, Compassion, Heart Centered Healing
Green Calcite- Healing, Abundance of many kinds, Heart Centered Healing, Calmness, Positive
Garnet- Grounding, Safety, Protection, Releasing Negative Energies and Old Patterns, Opens us up to feeling Safe, Loved and Supported.
Herbs:
Blue Vervain- Purifying, Balancing the Mind, Connected to the Crown Chakra and our Intuition
Rosemary- Clarifying, Cleansing, Purifying, Wisdom, Communication
Sage- Cleansing, Protection and more. Can use kitchen sage found at the grocery.
Lavender- Protection, Gentleness, Eases Sleep and promotes Gentle Dreams
Salt- Protection, Cleansing, Purifying, Abundance, Prosperity, Blessings
I will be adding some Incense I have on hand called Serenity. I will also include some offerings of food and coffee and a Monster drink as many Military members drink bunches of caffeine. * I do not include alcohol out of respect for my Sober Journey. You can in yours, however if that is what you enjoy offering.
Gather everything and arrange it how you feel is right. I will be putting the herbs on a plate around the candles and the crystals will be surrounding the plate. I will have a prewritten letter, or a set of intentions for the Ritual. I will create a circle of protection for my space right before I begin. (For ideas on basic protections you can read the article HERE) Then once I light the candles and incense, I will read off the intentions and whom I am sending the energies to in Honor of them. I do this as if I were talking to them all and their Guides. Some like rhyming intentions. Others like prayer. Some like songs. There is No Wrong Way!
I then meditate a bit and channel the energies I want to send them. I will often include some music when I do this portion of any Ritual. It can be meditative, your fav songs that fit with the theme of your Ritual, Solfeggio Frequencies, etc… Do what feels right for you. When all is done, I close out the Ritual.
*Never let a candle burn unsupervised. Snuff it out if you need to leave the room/area.
